I had a really great conversation with James Hull, owner of Local Roasting Co. Not only did he share his interesting and inspired story, but he also shared his amazing coffee. If you have not yet visited James at his shop, you should definitely stop by. It's a great atmosphere, and again, the coffee...oh the delicious coffee.
Also, as we near Thanksgiving, I want to wish you all a safe and wonderful holiday and say how thankful I am for all the wonderful people I've met over the past few months since starting the podcast. I'm always grateful for all the feedback I get from listeners (positive and negative) because I enjoy hearing the impact the show is making. If you have a chance, stop by iTunes and give us some feedback or a rating so we can share Bet On You with more listeners.

That was not a word combination I'd heard before talking to Travis Motter, owner of The Portland Bottle Shop. I've been a fan of the shop since I stopped by on opening day 2 1/2 years ago. Travis just knows his stuff and is passionate about what he does, which is evident when his face lights up when talking about the tasty libations on his shelfs. I appreciated the candor with which Travis talked about the excitement and struggles that come from owning your own business. Many thanks to Travis for taking the time to talk, and to his wife Emily for helping support him and his dream (and in turn allowing me a great place to escape into wine).
to get Ruby Jewel Ice Cream! I had such a great talk with Lisa Herlinger, created of Ruby Jewel ice cream. I was so inspired after our interview that I wanted to get it up right away so you could enjoy it as much as I did. Not only is she extremely passionate about what she does, but Ruby Jewel is a huge supporter of local products and uses them in their amazing creations. I typically wouldn't tell you to wait at all before listening to the podcast, but I HIGHLY suggest picking up some Ruby Jewel ice cream before settling in to listen. You can stop by one of their locations and get the hand scooped (if you haven't had their soft serve, do yourself a favor and order it up) or you find your closest store here to pick up an ice cream sandwich!!
